Overview

The Department of Interior Design and Merchandising (IDMR) consists of three distinct disciplines: interior design, fashion merchandising, and interiors merchandising. Within these three disciplines, we offer an undergraduate degree in Interior Design and Merchandising and minor programs of study. Students in these programs experience working with industry professionals and developing professional skills through community development projects and courses, student organization activities, and internships. IDMR facilities contain several physical resources to enhance student learning experiences. These resources include a textile lab, resource room, and computer-aided design labs. The department utilizes hands-on, active learning approaches to position graduates for success.


Our Students

Our students are exposed to many different opportunities and experiences including student organizations, professional internships, community service projects, and research projects. Graduates from our programs have a high job placement rate after graduation.


Our Faculty

Our award winning faculty enthusiastically engage our students in and out of the classroom through interactive lectures, research collaboration, community service projects, as well as other activities. Alumni

IDMR Alumni can be found in many different professional fields and actively engage with current students through internships, classroom presentations, community service projects as well as social activities. Our alumni work in a range of settings including both commercial and residential Interior Design firms, Retail markets, Fashion Design, Furnishing industry, just to name a few.
