In my free time I enjoy playing soccer, taking beach trips, and watching Netflix. I recently just finished a show called Greenleaf on Netflix which I highly recommend.

What brought you to ECU?
ECU is a well-known school at my high school but my interest in ECU began when I meet one of ECU’s Admissions Counselors at a college event at my school.

What is your favorite part of ECU?
My favorite parts about ECU is the atmosphere especially during football and baseball season, the multiple recreational centers and fields, the transit system, and the people I have met through different organizations.

Tell us about your internship?
I am an Intern at the Beaufort County Health Department. Through my internship, I have had a chance to work and plan COVID-19 outreach testing events throughout the county. I have also served as a health educator for the community in the county’s Diabetes prevention program and self-management education class.

What is your favorite aspect of the Health Education and Promotion program?
My favorite aspect of the Health Education and Promotion program is working in the Public Health field. Additionally, I’m grateful for the opportunities and experiences I have been exposed to and the great faculty that has watched and helped me grow into a better student.

Do you have any advice to incoming Health Education and Promotion students?
Time waits for no one, so don’t forget to get involved– there is something for everyone. Make sure you come up with a plan, set your goals, and write it down. Don’t sell yourself short and claim what you want!
