Workshop: Puberty, Growth & Development

Description:

  • Training focuses on the concepts and skills needed by preadolescences to provide anticipatory guidance for puberty and the social, emotional, and physical changes associated with this period of growth and transition.

Target Audience:

  • Teachers of students in grades 4, 5, and 6, school nurses, school counselors, school social workers, and public health professionals

Workshop: Parents Matter!

Description:

  • Training of facilitators to implement this evidence-based prevention program for parents of pre-teens. This family-focused prevention program is designed to enhance protective parenting practices and promote parent-child discussions about sexuality and sexual risk reduction.

Workshop: Rights, Respect, and Responsibility

Description:

  • Training of educators using a K-12 curriculum that aligns with the National Sexuality Education Standards and addresses a wide range to topics including: family, growth and development, friendship, sexuality, life skills, and health promotion.

  • Workshop designed to support schools and communities offering sexuality education programs deliver information about affirmative consent.

  • Workshop focuses on learning how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibility to child sexual abuse.

Workshop: Making Proud Choices!

Description:

  • Training of educators to implement this evidenced-based intervention which provides adolescents with the knowledge, confidence and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex. Available for the community edition (8 module) and school edition (14 module).

Workshop: Making Proud Choices! Adaptation for Out-of-Home Youth

Description:

  • Training of educators to implement the 10-module MPC adaptation for facilitators working with youth in out-of-home care.

Target Audience:

  • Youth-serving agencies, community-based organizations, and public health professionals working with youth in out-of-home care

Workshop: Reducing the Risk

Description:

  • Training of educators to implement this evidence-based curriculum designed to help high school students delay the initiation of sex or increase the use of protection against pregnancy and STD/HIV, if they choose to have sex. This curriculum addresses skills such as risk assessment, communication, decision making, planning, refusal strategies and delay tactics.

Workshop: Be Proud! Be Responsible!

Description:

  • Training of educators to implement this evidence-based intervention which is designed to empower youth to reduce their risk of HIV. This multi-media, 6-module curriculum provides adolescents with the knowledge, motivation and skills to change their behaviors in ways that will reduce their risk of contracting HIV.

  • Middle school teachers and public health professionals

Workshop: Draw the Line Respect the Line

Description:

  • Training of educators using this evidence-based intervention that promotes abstinence by providing students in grades 6, 7 and 8 with the knowledge and skills to prevent HIV, other STDs, and pregnancy. This intervention uses an interactive approach to help students set personal limits and meet challenges to those limits. Lessons also include the importance of respecting others’ personal limits.

Workshop: Promoting Health Among Teens! Abstinence Only or Comprehensive

Description:

  • Training of educators to implement this evidence-based intervention which helps students learn about puberty, STDs, including HIV, and pregnancy prevention.
