Interested in maternal and child health? Want more career development support? Eager to work directly with faculty and professionals in the MCH field? Apply to become an MCH-STEP scholar and be part of this exciting 2-year competitive training program.
Are MCH Scholars compensated? $4,000 in Stipend and Support: Scholars will receive a $2,500 stipend across their 2-year training ($1,000 for year 1 and $1,500 for year 2). In addition, Scholars will each receive $1,500 towards education-related expenses.

Are there requirements to becoming an MCH-STEP Scholar? Applicants must meet the following:
- Current full-time undergraduate student in HHP (Students in HEP, HDFS, or SOSW)
- Minimum 2.5 GPA and good academic standing
- Cannot graduate before May 2026
- United States citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrate an interest in maternal and child health
- Commit to being enrolled in for the full 2-year program
- Students in the follow categories are encouraged to apply:
- Self identify as a member of a historically marginalized racial and/or ethnic group
- First generation college student (parents did not earn a 4-year degree)*
- Face challenging family, social, economic, educational, cultural or other life circumstances*
- Demonstrate commitment to bringing diverse people together and working with underrepresented or
disadvantaged populations - Descendants of immigrant/migrant family or multi-language proficiency*
