Kulas remaining as department chair in kinesiology

Dean Dr. Nicole Bromfield and the East Carolina University College of Health and Human Performance announced Dr. Anthony S. Kulas as chair of the Department of Kinesiology, effective Jan. 2, 2025.

Dr. Anthony Kulas is chair of the Department of Kinesiology.

Kulas has been serving as interim chair since January 2024. He brings more than a decade of experience within HHP and a strong commitment to advancing research, teaching and student mentorship.

With a doctoral degree in exercise and sport science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Kulas has made significant contributions in both kinesiology and health education through his research and leadership. His expertise spans biomechanics, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and he has been instrumental at ECU in mentoring undergraduate and graduate students via numerous honors theses and research projects under his guidance.
