Khera a Carolinas rising star; Ott’s design earns BEHR recognition

The International Furnishings and Design Association-Carolinas Chapter named Kirandeep Khera, an interior design major, a “Rising Star” design student.

Khera then represented ECU and the College of Health and Human Performance at the Rising Star and Night of Luminaries Event in November in High Point.

This was the 12th annual Night of Luminaries and Rising Stars event, hosted by the Carolinas Chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association. These Rising Stars were identified and honored as outstanding students from their institution majoring in one of the following areas: interior design, furniture design, industrial design, interior architecture or visual merchandising.

Also highlighting IDMR student success, Brittany Ott earned second place in the prestigious 2024 BEHR Student Design Competition. Competition participants were required to design a commercial space using Behr’s Rumors color, and Ott’s concept was recognized for its creativity and execution. This was her first time competing, and her design was titled “Urban Sipology.”

“I was thrilled to receive the news and am truly honored for the opportunity to share my design work,” Ott said.
