WNCT features dog Fitness Walking class
As part of the start of East Carolina University’s fall semester coverage, WNCT visited with students and Dr. Melanie Sartore-Baldwin about the fitness walking course in association with the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina. Sartore-Baldwin was interviewed by the TV outlet, in which she emphasized how students and dogs benefit together from the unique course offered by ECU’s College of Health and Human Performance.
There also is community impact.
“The community benefits, because these students are going to be advocates,” Sartore-Baldwin told WNCT during the interview.
The course began in 2014, celebrating the 10-year mark at the start of the spring 2024 semester.
