HHP thanks donors, celebrates all scholarship winners
A lengthy list of scholarship awardees and positive interactions among students, donors, faculty, staff and other supporters once again highlighted the annual East Carolina University College of Health and Human Performance scholarship social. The event was held Aug. 22 at Harvey Hall on ECU campus.
After an introduction by HHP director of outreach Mack Keenan, remarks were given by HHP dean Dr. Nicole Bromfield and two-time School of Social Work alum Kashayia Coltrane, who received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from ECU in social work and earned a role working at Pride in North Carolina mental health services.
HHP has provided a digital program from the event. Like the in-person ceremony, the digital program includes individual recognition for the students.
This year’s social was sponsored by Escrow Consulting & Accounting, LLC.
Bromfield, who began as HHP’s dean in July, used her remarks to praise all supporters who contributed to the 120 scholarships awarded by HHP totaling $207,600 for this year. She also relayed that scholarships are investments into HHP students, motivating students to reach their potential to make valuable contributions and big impact to society and in our region.
Group photos were taken by HHP of all student awardees in attendance and posted on social media.
