Alumni, faculty, staff, community members and friends are invited to join a Sept. 7 evening event that will celebrate not only 35 years of excellence by the Marriage and Family Therapy Program and 20 years of innovation by the Medical Family Therapy Doctoral Program, but also serve as a tribute and celebration of Dr. Jennifer Hodgson’s longtime impact. Hodgson played a pivotal role in shaping the success of these human development and family science programs through her years of dedication, vision, service and leadership.

In 2005, Hodgson and Dr. Angela Lamson guided a breakthrough for ECU® to create the first doctoral program in the nation in medical family therapy. The marriage and family therapy program prepares licensed marriage and family therapists and, since 1992, has been continuously accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education.
