Das, Ballard participate in ECU leaders panel
With Drs. Sharon Ballard and Bhibha Das, the College of Health and Human Performance represented half of the panelists at the third annual Women Leaders at ECU panel event. Themes around conversations included being an advocate, authentic and supporting each other.
Das is an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology, and Ballard is chair of the Department of Human Development and Family Science. They were joined on the panel by Dr. LaNika Wright and Jessica Doyle-Mekkes.
Each panelist had the opportunity to share their insight and personal and professional experiences to guide the direction of discussions.
Students and other campus representatives asked questions and offered feedback to the panelists, including one student voicing that the event was inspirational to her. A traditional panel discussion was followed by a Q&A session involving audience members in attendance at the ECU Main Campus Student Center and watching virtually.
Toya Jacobs with the ECU Office for Equity and Diversity was the moderator. The event was hosted by the ECU Staff Senate diversity committee and the ECU Women and Gender Office.
