Instead of the usual “Paint it Purple” Friday, students, staff and faculty in the Belk Building wore red Feb. 3 to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease.

This was in support of the American Heart Association’s Wear Red Day, which aims to unite millions of people for a common goal of the eradication of heart disease and stroke.

Department of Health Education and Promotion chair Dr. Michele Wallen thanked HEP interns, Iyaira Williams and Karlee Harrington, and their mentors, faculty Rose Haddock and Kelli Russell, for their efforts to plan this event and promote heart health.
